This is taken at The Spa at Norwich Inn on April 20, 1997 when we did consulting work and stayed at one of their Villas.
This is taken on February 9, 2002 when we were on the bus to Beatle Mania!
Over the years, the upper part in the back got faded and also on one shoulder...
With black leather dye I did touch it up... from LeatherNu click it
For quite some days I had to wait for finally being able to make a photo with good light!
This got taken on January 5.
The back side... this photo is not lightened or whatever.
Perfect for wearing end of January together with Pieter's wool Fedora hat...
Yes, we both have one, mine got ordered here in the USA.

Hello Mariette, It's amazing how long things last when you buy good ones to begin with and then take good care of them. You and Pieter both look sharp in your soft leather jackets!

DeleteYes, you must start out with good quality in order to make it last by taking good care of it.
Probably Pieter's got faded while hanging on its hanger on the oak coat rack with chest below, in our hallway, before I did sew the thick rayon damask curtains.
Glad I could touch it up with this dye and it looks like new again.

DeleteGuess I'm privileged of having had my dear Mom who encouraged me to do things I had to do for the very first time. That's how they all survived in previous generations and I learned from her. Guess nowadays young people believe that conveniences will be around forever... History has proven to us that it goes up and down.
It gives at least a lot of satisfaction and we both are happy with what we have and kept in good condition; even ourselves - for each other!

Good as new! Once I tried to restore a favorite cotton garment (a skirt, I think) by re-dying it, but unsuccessfully as it still looked wore out, but the jacket was a success!

So far, I've never tried to dye a cotton garment... Sure there are also good ways for doing that.
