Just like to show you how Kwekkie's webbing has healed and partly grown back!
Just love the perfect orange of her feet!
You clearly see that part of the webbing on her left foot has grown back.
So happy to see this.
Kwekkie's nostril visible upper left as he/she started to preen.
Well, with Snapping turtles in the creek there is always a danger lurking...

I missed the post about the snapping turtle. Wow that guy was big. Pretty neat though even if I wouldn’t want one in my yard.
ReplyDeleteDearest Debby,
DeleteThere is not much to love about such a monster...😼
We used to have big gold fish in our pond—Guido and Gianni and they have been eaten...
Ducklings got pulled down and eaten...
A danger for little kitties or puppies.
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh I forgot to ask, did the turtle bite your duck’s feet? Glad it’s healing and growing back.
ReplyDeleteDearest Debby,
DeleteGuess there would not be any other reason she got wounded that way...
It is awful, we had another female duck that got even worse bitten!
Sure, Kwekkie's foot has healed in an amazing way.
Hugs,
Mariette
She has adorable feet! I'm glad the webbing has started to grow back. :-)
ReplyDeleteDearest Kim,
DeleteShe sure has and a lovely orange color too—it showed perfect while she was on the driveway.
Often she walks into our garage—acting like a sibling of our kitties and they are all friendly!
Hugs,
Mariette
Isn't nature wonderful ... and self-healing, (when we let it).
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteWell nature would be more cruel. We fed Kwekkie and brought the food to her when she barely could walk. In nature there is not such a thing as after care or a full and rich nutritional meal for wounded critters... They often die because they become too weak to survive.
Hugs,
Mariette
It's great that the leg is getting better.
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteYes, the tender loving care and feeding her well certainly did pay off.
Kwekkie is also very grateful—they feel that we helped her.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hi, it’s Helen ~ I had no idea a snapping turtle could be so aggressive! Happy that Qwekkie is on the mend .. a sweet image.
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
DeleteYes, those are no friendly critters—looking ugly and even prehistoric!
Kwekkie has done remarkably well.
Hugs,
Mariette
Adorable

Dearest Regine,
DeleteThank you and yes, it is such a sweet 'wild' duck that adopted us!
Hugs,
Mariette
There's a small difference in the foot but he doesn't even notice it.

Dearest Christina,
DeleteSo far, things have healed very well!
Walking and swimming doesn't seem to cause any problems.
Hugs,
Mariette
Poor thing! Just glad she is healing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Dearest Martha Jane,
DeleteSo are we and so glad she 'adopted' Pieter right before this!
Hugs,
Mariette
I am so happy for Kwekkie!
ReplyDeleteNature is indeed wonderful!
Hugs and blessings, dearest Mariette!
Dearest Veronica,
DeleteOh, nature can be very healing but I guess Kwekkie is lucky for having us.
Hugs,
Mariette
Voelt goed.
Liefs,
Mariette
Sono contenta che Kwekkie stia guarendo!
ReplyDeleteCara Olga,
DeleteAnche noi siamo molto felice per Kwekkie!
Abbracci,
Mariette
