On March 13, we had our final breakfast buffet before the conference finale.
We headed with the hotel shuttle to the airport and from there by bus to downtown San Diego.
That was for $ 0.80 by bus instead of $ 10.00 by taxi... great tip!
We enjoyed our visit at Sea World from 11:00 till 16:00 and visited the dolphins, otters, seals show and of course the killer whales.
Very impressive—especially the getting wet of the people in the first 6 rows!!!
Pieter at Sea World with its beautiful gardens and lay out!
Pieter near some giant cacti and to the left you can just read the final characters of the word Sea World...
Those trainers interacting with the killer whales...
In–between performances a huge walrus came hanging over the fence and he/she spew water over the audience!
We both swear that the animal had fun doing so—and knew what it did!
Even riding on their back...
It also was a wonderful and sunny day.
We went back by bus to Downtown San Diego and then walked along the boulevard in 20 minutes back to our hotel.
Next day we went to the airport by 11:00 and flew to Atlanta at 12:45 together with someone from Limburg, The Netherlands.
We arrived in Atlanta by 19:45 and drove separately to Dublin, Georgia.
Next day after breakfast, Pieter picked up Jan Huijs at the Holiday Inn and together to the Campbell mushroom plant.
By noon he came home with Pieter and went with him to the Rotary lunch.

Mariette
Amazing place!
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteYes it sure was! We saw the otters, the dolphins and these orkas.
Hugs,
Mariette
I've never been to Sea World, Mariette, but it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteDearest Martha Jane,
DeleteOh, it sure was incredible.
We took my brother next year to Orlando, FL and also my Parents the year thereafter. Both of us have been numerous times to Sea World with our guests.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello! What wonderful memories of your visit! And because of you, I recall a awesome trip my husband and I made with our daughter there so many years ago! Thank you for that! And have a cozy day, my friend.
ReplyDeleteDearest Billie Jo,

Glad it rekindled fond memories for you.

ReplyDeleteCara Olga,
DeleteGrazie mille!

Liefs,
Mariette
Such an bloody nice post, that I enjoyed
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteIt was also equally good for being there!
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh my, I remember Shamu. I have old family movies of Sea World. IN Palo Verdi, there used to be Hanna-Barbera's Marine Land. - We used to go there a lot. It's gone now.
ReplyDeleteDearest Debby,
DeleteGlad this brought back fond memories for you—even if certain things are gone now...
Hugs,
Mariette
I would like to ride on a dolphin / killer whale.
ReplyDeleteDearest RTC,
DeleteBoth are majestic for doing so!
Hugs,
Mariette
A visit to the Sea World is always enjoyed. Pieter looks handsome in the photos, and the animal's spewing water on the audience sounds funny.
ReplyDeleteDearest Duta,
DeleteOh, it was fabulous in all, even their gardens where you walked from one event to the next.
That walrus was a hilarious act and it was obvious it had fun doing so.
Hugs,
Mariette
I've seen similar shows before, at Zoo de Lisboa and Zoomarine, in Albufeira, in the south of Portugal.

Dearest Christina,
DeleteGuess they are indeed similar and equally fabulous for getting to know those creatures.

What a fun place. Living in California, I've actually been here. San Diego is a charming place to visit. The dolphins are such smart animals, and very gentle. I've also visited the San Diego Zoo, which was fantastic! Glad you got a chance to visit Sea World, Maritette.

Dearest Sheri,
