The BIG Reveal and Moonflower—Ipomoea alba

So FINALLY I will show you the BIG Reveal of Pieter's Completed Wood Trail Mega Task!
Just walk with me as I show you in this 1:30 minute video and I do talk English!
Video taken on July 7.
Don't forget to click on 'CC' for seeing English caption...
The first part shows the HUGE laurel oak tree Quercus hemisphaerica.
Pieter took these images last night after heavy thunder and thus dark weather.
That 'tricked' our Moonflower — Ipomoea alba, into opening up instead of waiting till dark!
Some insect seems to be snacking on its heart–shaped leaves...
They are gorgeous

Pieter's Outfit from Khazana at Taj Palace New Delhi Hotel

On February 29 of 1991 we were at the Taj Palace New Delhi hotel after our two–week consulting work for Pond's India. This before flying to Indonesia where we worked and lived at the time.
With a guide from Pond's we did go to the State Emporia where we found a whale for Uncle Bo Whaley, and for us a sandalwood carving with balls inside.
Also a bird painting on rice paper.
Back at our hotel we found for Pieter a very nice fitting greenish cotton pair of trousers and a striped shirt.
This was on our patio in Wonosobo, Indonesia where Pieter put on the entire set.
Perfect fit!
Admiring our orchids that just hang on wood wool planks against the wall.
Happy times during our life in Indonesia!
The climate was so perfect for our hair...
We also found a perfect pure silk black tie at the Taj Palace New Delhi Khazana Shop.
India has so much!
It is real black, the shine of the silk made it look a bit different... 😉
Pieter wearing his Khazana trousers on his 69th Birthday in our front porch.
The same guy, same trousers only 31 years later...
And yes, those comfy eco friendly Loints sandals are still alive as well!
Notice the Moonflower vine, to the left of Pieter's knee?
Home grown by Pieter from seeds and it is opening its very first flower!
They too are HUGE and bloom at night mainly; hence its name Moonflower — Ipomoea alba.
Photos taken around 9:00 so it was closing.
Pieter on the back step of our gazebo. The white gingerbread from Vintage Woodworks looks so nice after it got painted again.
From inside of gazebo facing the pond area.

Surprise Clematis Josephine - Bird Poop GIFT

Already inside the greenhouse, on March 29, this new Surprise Clematis 'Josephine' was blooming.
We never purchased it so it must be another gift from some bird...
It sure is a lovely one with its very double center!

Do you love Clematis?

Thanks for your visit.

Happy with my Scuba Skirt

We all have had no doubt something that we fell in love with right away, until the price ticket scared us off!
One of Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th emails showed such a gem.
Of course I tried to wait till it got on sale but then it was SOLD OUT!
Wearing it here, with my sewing creation that I've shown you before.
It goes perfect with this Silk Quilted Vest that I paired with silk Escada blouse.
The Scuba Skirt is in a moss green and so are my Escada shoes.
Here is the J BRAND Kimberly Scuba Skirt that I've posted on Pinterest, just scroll down.
Also the back side with special zipper.
Just like a dream object...
One rainy day I thought, why not Google this J BRAND Kimberly Scuba Skirt?
Low and behold, at Poshmark.com I found it; new and half price and in a size S!
Laughing with this cast iron 'OWL', It can hold a votive candle for special light effect.
We got it long before I joined the Choir of the Knight Owls...
Love the length of this skirt so much and the freedom.
I had an A-line Escada skirt but our late Spooky boy did claw it while carrying him on my hip to the mail box. I got two holes from his hind legs where he dug in!
At that time he was still an indoor only cat and he got excited about some dog...
But finally, I found this replacement!
Blending in with nature...
This is taken on April 2.
Pleats in the back too and for the zipper you have to check out my Pinterest as it is not visible here.
Yes, we still had azaleas here!
Not much of a show this year, due to the late frost.
Spooky boy did approve of my skirt! They love to linger in our Gazebo.
So does Barty boy, our eldest 13-year old.
And above all, the photographer, husband Pieter who is holding here our HUGE Clematis Lanuginosa Candida blooms.

Thank you for your visit!

{Life is Paradise, and we ALL are IN Paradise, but REFUSE to SEE it}

Hope you all are enjoying spring, even for those Europeans that are facing snow...
Because I'm still scanning my final albums, no time for posting, nor visiting blogs.
Sorry for my absence but I have to complete this!
For that I share with you our beautiful Lilac Clematis 'Silver Moon' and a great quote:

"Life is paradise, and we are all in paradise, but we refuse to see it." Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Yes indeed, Life is in many ways PARADISE!
Look at all those precious blossoms in spring.
ENJOY them and wishing you a lovely week.
Holy Week for my blogger friends in Greece.

Happy Spring!

Also gratitude from birds, residing on our property...
Building their nests, raising their young ones and singing their happy songs!

{My Escada & RED Valentino Score}

With my European size 34, or US size 4, I often do find incredible bargains at Outlets or on line.
Let me show you what I wore on Easter Sunday...
Happy on Easter Sunday in my new outfit...
Lambsnappa skirt from Escada with also Escada low heeled pumps.
RED Valentino sweater and my Ferragamo bag that I received as a gift from my boss in Indonesia.
The canvas with leather Ferragamo bag goes very well with this outfit.
Skirt from behind with blind zipper, darts and walking slit.
Yes, both of us have always received precious gifts from people we did consulting for and I do treasure this Salvatore Ferragamo bag!
The skirt was brandnew, never worn with tags still on and spare button in bag as usual with Escada.
European size 34 or US size 4...
Found on eBay under items listed NWT (New With Tag). Nobody bid on it so I snatched this away for only $ 49.99!
Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th took care of the perfect sweater!
On December 23, they offered the already 41% marked off RED Valentino sweater, for an extra 40% off!
That's how one can own a couture top from RED Valentino that was $ 495.00 for $ 173.99...
Saving $ 321.01
For the entire outfit a good score; considering the leather skirt was such a steal!
Got this sweater in a Medium as I do not like to wear it tight fitting.
On such a bright, sunny day it was rather hard to capture its true color...
Detail from the front pockets...
You also can see the gilded thread in this RED Valentino sweater.
Very happy with this new set!
Pantyhose are from the Wolford boutique at The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills in South Florida.
Our yellow Carolina jasmines blooming so pretty!
Yellow + Sunshine makes one HAPPY!
Those yellow heart earrings I have for decades already...
Did wear this outfit when I last visited Harry, my 3rd brother, in The Netherlands.
Our Barty boy loves rolling in the dry leaves and catkins and he wants to be near me all the time!

Hope you also enjoyed a sunny Easter Sunday!

{Ipomoea Quamoclit or Cypress Vine}

On the wooden rail, along the steps to our gazebo we have a lovely new vine climbing up!
It is the Ipomoea Quamoclit or Cypress Vine.
A very tiny flower but oh so pretty!
Here it climbs up the wooden railing.
The Hoya Carnosa is also on the steps and both are gourmet food for the hummingbirds, that feast on the pollen and nectar.
These tiny flowers are not easy to capture...
Photos are taken on August 26.
Tiny, slender buds open up...
The above photo was on September 10; taken by husband Pieter...
Seeds start forming for next year's showcase of feathery green with tiny red flowers.
Maybe you too do have this tiny vine?
