{UPDATE...}

Guess I need two more weeks for finishing my photo albums and having them ALL digital...
Several I already did have digital, from scanning the slides before. We often did have slides + photos, developed from special professional film rolls for that purpose.
How times have changed!
But I very much like the way it is now being archived.
Every day I manage one album...
So by the end of April or early May I will be DONE!
Hope I'm getting out of the stupid time where photos had rounded edges, in the mid till late 80s.
Have to fill those edges in, which is time consuming!
For sure I will do the HAPPY DANCE once I'm through.
The weather is not yet such that it feels like a time waste...
There are some JOYS also in early spring.
Such as this Bletila Striata Alba Orchid that Pieter dug up from our wood garden where it almost wilted.
We have had three of them for years but the roots from those big trees compete for food and water.
They are happy inside a pot now and bloomed very early on March 20!
You can read more about it in my previous post from 2011:
{Our Bletilla Striata Alba Orchid native to Japan and China} They now are 20 years old!
On March 11, while having late afternoon tea in our living room, I heard some strange noise...
That turned out to be the gas burners from a HUGE Hot Air Balloon that landed in our back yard!
Just beside the big pond and they barely managed to get over the huge oak tree that stands next to the pond.
Lots of spectators too in our back yard.
After having worked hard all day and taking a shower afterwards, Pieter already was in his robe and ready to retire in front of TV... Not so!
WISH we would have been on the balcony for seeing them land.
The daughter of a dear friend was inside the basket, it was one of the things still on her bucket list.
 After having received two donor lungs, and recovering well enough, she finally was able to realize this!
Here are our boys, Bandido, left who joined his brother Spooky to the right in their favorite bolstered Kitty Sill Deluxe.
Probably they can communicate as it turned out that this was on March 28 and by Friday, April 1 (no joke!) Spooky was near dead with a urinary track blockage.
It was a dreary rainy day and I spotted him, hidden in the cat house in the front porch, with big eyes looking at me.
He did not want to eat and later he'd hidden away against the wall of our front porch; in the rain... We found him and rushed him to the Animal Clinic that is only one mile away from us. She did sedate him and insert a catheter and on Monday we could pick him up.
He's now eating medicated dry food and has improved greatly.
He'd lost weight and was without energy.
So glad we found out in time!
So what do you do with all this stress?
Rewarding ourself with a delicious five course dinner at the authentic Italian Restaurant of Ristorante da Maria at Dublin Farm "Come Home To The Country"
Also my webmaster let me know that he will get out of this business so I had to secure all of my text before it will be taken down.
Too much on my plate but this will pass!
Wishing you a lovely upcoming weekend and thanks for your visits.

{Our Apple Blossom Rosebud Pelargonium}

Once more I'd like to show you our precious tiny Apple Blossom Rosebud Pelargonium.
Are those tiny Rosebuds not a DREAM?
They truly do resemble Apple Blossom
Tiny buds and they become more pinkish when fully opened up.
Hope you loved seeing these romantic Victorian hybrid Pelargonium Rosebuds!

{Our Violets}

Mid March we have lots of lovely wood violets, mainly in our wood garden but also in other areas of our garden. So I did gather some for filling a tiny silver vase.
Wood Violets have such pretty faces, also their curved flower head looks very special.
Just so you can see their size, I've added a $ 0.10 piece for comparison.
For back ground I selected a spot with moss...
Sunlight can be quite striking in combination with these lovely flower heads!
Who would NOT love them?
One last closeup and than we say goodbye till 2016.

{Crinum Americanum - Swamp Lily}

Also in August and September we do have our Crinum Americanum or Swamp Lily blooming at their best.
Sorry for not having visited many blogs; had surgery on my left hand Friday and tomorrow I will get discharged from the hospital.
During the rainy week of September, husband Pieter captured this photo on the 24th.
Earlier, on August 9, I have taken this photo when they bloomed for the first time.
Very healthy leaves and lots of flowers but when it rains it is hard to enjoy them...
Again on September 24th.
They also produce lots of thick seeds!

Did any of you know this flower?

{Apple Blossom Rosebud Pelargonium}

Our Apple Blossom Rosebud Pelargonium from last year has been doing very well.
They really look like Apple Blossoms...
Very healthy foliage as of August 9.

{Tiny Silver Vase with Rosebud Pelargonium}

Just to give you a more precise idea about HOW tiny our Silver Repoussé Vase from my previous post: {Our Wild Violets} actually is, here it is again now filled with our Rosebud Pelargonium.
You see? There is a US quarter next to this tiny silver vase.
That vase I snatched away on eBay as it actually is the KNOB of a Victorian style walking stick or parasol!
A silver repoussé rosebud knob, that was missing its stick.
See below post some examples from Christie's.
I saw right away the use for it as it was flat at the top; now bottom when used as a vase...
Mind you, these are NOT real roses but instead our Rosebud Pelargonium...
Are they not darling looking like the real thing?!
Arranged her are the Red Rosebud and the Apple Blossom Rosebud...
Outside in the sun of our balcony...
On the balcony's teak table.
Don't you love them?
Such lovely miniature rosebuds to play with!
Now on top of our Brown Jordan Chaise...
Showing the Apple Blossom Rosebuds.
Pink edges and so beautiful.
Light does affect their color just a tad...
Are these not a dream?

Time to say goodbye!
Do you have any of these Rosebud Pelargonium?

{Our Patio Pot Plants}

On April 10 you could read my blog post {Our Patio Tiles Are DONE!} and since that day we have been adding Pot Plants to Our Patio...
This is the kitchen bay window area on April 10...
Moving to the right where you can see the front porch as well.
Pieter has been painting several pots so they better match.
Stepping a little bit closer now.
The white trellis with our Clematis lanuginosa 'Candida' got made by Pieter himself.
Stepping further back towards our white vinyl picket fence you can better see the house.
Here is also an Oxalis patch near the lantern.
So happy to see green leaves on all our trees by now!
The patio starts looking nice with these pot plants.
This photo is taken on April 23, from underneath the huge Dogwood tree's canapy.
You can see the bird feeder hanging down from it.
When stepping back you can also see our squirrel proof bird feeder that will close down access to the bird feed when a squirrel's weight is on its bar. BUT those acrobats hang upside down from its roof and get what they want...
The Japanese style bird bath is also in sight here.
Closer towards the steps to our veranda...
Zooming in on this group of Pot Plants.
The purple one is the Patio Peach that I have shown earlier when it was blooming. See below post.
Our Clematis lanuginosa 'Candida' next to our Bonfire Prunus Persica - Patio Peach
Our front patio also is getting more and more Pot Plants out.
Will follow up when more are added...
Do you like the way they are being added on to the tiles?

{Our Oxalis}

We do have several different Oxalis in our garden.
These pink ones look so lovely early in spring and they bloom all through summer!
They really do spread, once you planted some little bulbs.
We used to have a giant variety as well but we lost that one...
A happy mass of Oxalis flowers!
Yes, we're zooming out...
Oxalis Triangularis or Purple Shamrock
Almost buried beneath those long pine needles in our wood garden.
Purple Shamrock with white flowers.
Do you have any in your garden?

{Our White Pansies & Indian Hawthorn}

Alongside our driveway, we do have Fiberglass Window Boxes hanging on the retainer wall. Those are filled with White Pansies and the blooming Indian Hawthorn next to the wall is filling in with white blossoms as well.
The Indian Hawthorn to the left, we got as a gift from our German 'sons', in July of 1995.
Once a pot plant, it over the years has really grown up!
White Pansies in our Fiberglass Window Boxes alongside the driveway's retainer wall.
The blossoms of the Indian Hawthorn are an early spring pollen and nectar provider for the bees.
Photos are taken on April 10...
Do you have an Indian Hawthorn or White Pansies?
