{German Marzipan Stollen 500 years of Christmas Tradition}

For years while living in the US we have been enjoying the authentic German Marzipan Stollen, a 500 year old Christmas tradition. We bought our Oebel Marzipan Stollen this year at World Market in Atlanta. My surprise was big for also finding German Marzipan Stollen at our new, local T.J. MAXX store. We did buy them there often while on the road as consultants in Connecticut. But it sure makes us feel more at HOME with local supply now. Do you know this delicious German Tradition too? If not, you ought to buy one now, even 'after Christmas sales' can give you this great experience.
Enjoy this Marzipan Stollen with tea or coffee and I guarantee, you will be hooked!
So plan to add this to your Christmas to do list.

  4. Hello Mariette

    We are fortunate to be able to buy it here too and it has become a regular Christmas favourite. It looks extra luxurious on your beautiful Rosenthal porcelain.

    Thank you so much for your visit. Your comments mean a lot to me.

  7. Wow that looks really yummy! what a fabulous Christmas treat. I am a huge fan of Marzipan... in Portugal marzipan is used at Christmas and Easter celebrations, it is shaped into fruits, vegetables, animals and decorated accordingly ... if purchased from a good bakery (or you are fortunate to know someone who makes it home made) it is a feast for the senses! Happy Wednesday my dear friend, xo HHL

  11. Mmm, kerststol!

    Sandy

  13. I just love marzipan stollen! Every year, at Christmas time, I used to receive one in a box directly from Germany, as it was sent by a dear colleague. ( I also used to receive a carton with 100 tulip bulbs from Amsterdam (for over 15 years!).
    Now that I retired, I miss those nice gifts !!!! ha ha ha!!! Although, we can now find stollen in Greek super-markets also! Enjoy yours, dear Mariette!!!!
