{FRESH Made Pasta Sauce}

Already on February 2, 2013, I came across one of my favorite blogs: Frugal Ain't Cheap where Italian born Daniela always presents remarkable tips and often recipes. She wrote: Pasta Sauce in 5 Minutes on that particular day and I saved it as it was so easy and healthy with FRESH ingredients. You can click the above hyperlink for Daniela's recipe! The bell peppers and cherry tomatoes we got at Costco's Wholesale.
Several times I made Daniela's yummy and quick Pasta Sauce, but only on May 23, I finally made some photos...
Using Trader Joe's Organic Whole Wheat Fusilli Pasta for a healthy diet.
Since we are shopping at Trader Joe's we also take the Pecorino Romano & Parmesan blend grated cheese with only 2% cholesterol and fat. Sodium is low too with only 3%.
Following Daniela's recipe above, you have a very quick and healthy vegetarian meal and I also do add Trader Joe's Beef-less Ground Beef to this FRESH Made Pasta Sauce.
Topped with the above mentioned grated cheese, served in a French Pillivuyt Sancerre, heated pasta bowl...
To the right of my plate is this French Baccarat crystal glass with 'AMOUR' engraved into it.
I also do have the 'LOVE' version from Baccarat.
With my supper, I do drink the freshly squeezed juice of one lemon (also from Costco).

Sharing some Blogger LOVE and thanks again Daniela for your worthwhile recipe!

  2. It looks great dear Mariette and I am gonna visit your Italian friend, as I adore Italian food, I make my own home made pasta when I'm in the mood for it. Many years I made home pasta, as there was not good pasta on sale here, but now there is, although never like the home made kind. Great hugs,

Glad you like it and this is a great Italian version of health food. In Florida there are still NO Trader Joe's... Wonder why not? They came from Hawaii, via California to the East but not yet South!
Hugs to you and I trust you as an excellent pasta maker.

  4. Hello Mariette, Pasta like this is one of my favorite meals. I usually use some form of canned tomato, but I get the kind without any added salt or flavorings. One addition you didn't mention was crushed red pepper flakes (served separately), which I love on spaghetti without, although some guests don't like hot spices.

    1. Dearest Jim,
This comes quite close to the healthy Asian meals in a way. Easy to digst and healthy. The way you your canned tomato is still good, as long as the sodium is low. We get plenty of fresh tomatoes here all year but not at your part of he world. Crushed red pepper flakes I would love. Living in Indonesia I got quite addicted to the capsicum peppers that I ate on the side with most anything.
Enjoy your Sunday evening and your new week.

    1. Cara Anna,
      Mariette

Thank you so much for sharing the Pasta sauce preparations. I did not realize that Trader Joe was a brand of Italian foods. I have been looking for whole wheat pasta as my husband's doctor suggested that he stay with whole grains to maintain his cholesterol. Thanks again.

    1. Dearest Munir,
You are quite welcome! Trader Joe's is not really a brand for Italian foods alone; they have lots of products but very economical and more health conscious. For exactly the same reasons both of us eat mostly whole grains!
      Hugs to you,

    Baci,
    Mariette
