In the year 1989 we both lived and worked in Italy, in the Veneto region.
Working then for Funghi del Montello in Pederobba we had received over the years special art work:
Handpainted wild mushroom plates done by artist A. Zen Nove in a limited edition of 100 plates annually. We got all ten and just as we joked about where to hang more of them; they quit producing them...

The special friendship with the Sartor family exists already for two generations.
We have very fond memories of Italy!

ReplyDeleteHi Mariette,
ReplyDeleteI love mushrooms, I love pretty tablescapes and I love handpainted porcelain. Thus this plates have a special attraction to me. They are nicely painted and I could imagine that the were pretty to use for tablescape too. But also I think they look wonderfull at a wall in your home. You have collected from all over the world so wonderful things. The artist of this plates catched the spirit of the forest wonderful with this tender fronds around the plate and the naturally painted mushrooms. Looks a bit like sarreguemines, doesn't it? Thank you for showing us this wonderful plates.
Greetings, Johanna
