{My Italian Boots & Escada Leather Vest and Shorts}

Having done consulting for the Italian company near the Venice area, before we actually started working and living there full time, did yield me some buttery soft Italian boots as a GIFT. Leave it to the Italians for presenting you with the most elegant and luxurious gifts! They know how to do that. These boots were bought in Montebelluna, province of Treviso, Italy on November 2, 1984. They are entirely lined with the softest leather and have a little heel.
That's me out for a walk. Nancy Sinatra sang it already: These boots are made for walking...
Leather vest from Escada with leather shorts from Escada; both entirely lined and also buttery soft.
Wool sweater by Escada and my old lace tights...
With the sun out it is hard to look at you...!
So let's turn around and you get to see my lace tights with back seam and the little heels.
Our kittens are well disciplined; evidence that those tights survived many, many years!
Are you wearing anything made out of leather; besides your shoes, belts and handbags?

  2. Beautiful in black leather! Perfect for cool days! I have one black leather coat with a tie waist - a thrift shop find. It is too rainy here to wear leather very often, but I do wear it when it is dry. Love your boots, too. Enjoy your stylish walks, Mariette! xoxo

    1. Dearest Karen,
Thanks for your compliments. Oh, sure the climate has a lot to do with what you wear. As long as the heels are not too high (like nowadays...!) I can walk for miles on end, on pavement that is. Not on a wood trail of course. Such a thin wool sweater with soft leather vest is perfect for winter time here. Hope you stay comfy too and watch the cougars and bears when you walk; you need running shoes out there!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  5. Hoi lieve Mariette,

      Liefs,

Thanks for your compliments. It is easy for dressing nicer if you live in a lovely climate. I found that already true for Italy, compared to the always wet and cold Netherlands where I grew up.

Over due but I want to reply to your comment as well. This is a perfect autumn/winter walking style for some great days. In general here in the south east we cannot complain about our winters but some days are down right nasty with the windchill factor. You need to dress different than!

    1. Dearest Elna,
That is very special that your Father was a leather tailor! We did work for Pond's India Ltd and they too did produce leather garments for Armani and such. It is quite a job to do this. For you too it is a great garment to wear in Sweden, due to the climate. It keeps you very cozy!

    1. Dearest Seeker,
Aha, I did analyze your tiled floor very well than! Especially the tile baseboard is SO European. We have changed just this year our wood ones into tiled ones. A lot easier to clean and that's how it's done in the Old World.
Now I also understand your connection with friend Celia better since you are from the Açores... Hope you do enjoy a better climate than most in northern and western Europe. You are at a 38° latitude and we are at a 32° latitude, so just a bit more south of yours.
Have a lovely remainder of the week!
