We did have some lovely looking roses in our garden. With the emphasis on 'looking' because for handling them they were not lovely! Very sharp thorns and thus rather prickly for arranging them inside this crystal Baccarat vase.
Looks lovely though; or not?
A healthy living snack... home baked almond cookies; my version of Amaretti cookies.
Tea and some fresh fruit.
You can see the many thorns on those stems!
Grapes are seedless...
Husband Pieter LOVES my home baked Amaretti cookies!
Sad thing is that Trader Joe's discontinued the Organic Coconut Sugar... Whole Foods Market does have it too, but they're far more expensive!
Are you also using the low glycemic index Coconut Sugar?

Baking my own version of Amaretti cookies and some fresh fruits or mixed nuts with tea is such a bliss.
Hope the weather will be kind to you.
Sending you hugs from both of us,

Een perfect plaatje, om zo aan tafel te schuiven.
ReplyDeleteBeste Marianne,
DeleteJa, je bent van harte welkom hoor; moet wel eerst nieuwe koekjes bakken!
Liefs,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteYour roses are always so beautiful; how fortunate you are to have them.
Thanks to you I am now using coconut sugar. I am trying, not always successfully, to get my blood sugar under control. Some say I am prediabetic, but my doctor says that saying you are prediabetic is like saying you are a little bit pregnant!
We had rain last week and expect a wonderful week end, which will be spent getting ready to replace the pool liner.
Enjoy your week end..........*s*
Dearest Suzi,
DeleteThank you and so far we have been lucky to see some healthy blooming roses on our property. It is tough though.
Yes, the coconut sugar is a great way for living healthier. Like your doctor's attitude and he's so right about it! Not only that but it will affect your kidneys and might lead to other major health issues. Once you get used to the coconut sugar and agave nectar, you will notice the differences.
We have not been home for 8 days so I can't tell if we got a lot of rain, it looked okay when we got home yesterday morning. Success replacing the pool liner!
Hugs,
Mariette

Mariette
Roses have a beautiful color and additives teas are healthy and delicious. Regards.
ReplyDeleteDearest Giga,
DeleteThank you and yes, these tea accompaniments are very healthy and still delicous.
Hugs,
Mariette
Your roses are beautiful! I forget they have thorns from time to time. Their beauty is very distracting, I guess. Your home baked cookies looks so yummy. Tea, fruit, and cookies, what a perfect combination!
ReplyDeleteI got coconut flour recently, for my kitties. Thought I'd try to bake something for them, and I can have whatever is left :-)
Dearest Tamago,
DeleteThank you and yes, we better do forget that they have thorns and let their beauty and/or fragrance win!
I've not yet used the coconut flour but will try that out soon as well. It is healthy and even for our kitties it is a lot better.
Hugs,
Mariette

Very pretty roses, Dear Mariette, and the cookies look delicious inside your beautiful glass basket! I have not heard of coconut sugar, but now I am going to search for it. Enjoy your lovely tea. Hugs xo Karen
ReplyDeleteDearest Karen,
DeleteThank you very much and if you have a Whole Foods near your hometown, you will be able to find it!
We do enjoy our daily tea time with fresh fruits, mixed unsalted nuts and healthy low glycemic index cookies.

Dearest Mariette; Gorgeous red roses in your crystal Baccarat vase♡♡♡ We have a phrase from the thorn of roses in Japanese, kind of insinuating the cation for the beautiful thing :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely setting and wish to taste your home made cookie♪♪♪
Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear Japanese friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
Dearest Miyako,
DeleteThank you very much!
Yes, it is true about those phrases and we ought to learn from them throughout our lives.
Oh, how I would love to hand you some cookies for tasting.
Hugs and love from Georgia/USA.
