THIS is how a MANGO grows...

Me very happy in the garden near the office of our mushroom company in Probolinggo, East Java, Indonesia.
THIS is how mangoes grow!
What a sight to hold them in your hands like that...
For husband Pieter it was a discovery as well.
Too bad it is not yet ripe or I would eat it!
By the end of November they're ripe and ready for transport to the fruit markets.
East Java has a very delicious sweet variety and while living in Indonesia we bought LOTS of them, fresh at the local market.

Have you ever seen mangoes on a tree?

  3. No, I haven't. I ate one one time when I loved in central Florida. I love seeing fruits on a tree, no matter which ones they are.

It sure is a very regular staple for both of us. Mangoes with Trader Joe's no fat (lowest sugar content on the market as well) Greek Yogurt is so yummy!

  6. Hello Mariette, There are lots of mango trees here, especially a small variety that is green (but sweet) when ripe. There was a tree in a public space near my old apartment, and I used to pick the fruit. By the way, I favor mangoes when they are not quite ripe and still hard--they have the best acid flavor then, and are not so sweet. You can often find them like that in the supermarkets in the U.S. Try one and cut it before it gets soft, and you'll see!

    1. Dearest Jim,
You were lucky for being able to pick the fruit yourself.
Yes, I too love them that way but Pieter being the very sweet guy, prefers them ripe and I too love that.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

I haven't seen any mangoes in nature. I buy mangoes from time to time - i. H. they are picked ripe and a pleasure to eat. Sweet and juicy. Splendid.
    Many greetings to you. Viola

      Mariette
