What a sight when looking out of the window and the delivery truck for our new toilet unloaded a vertical package...!
Obviously NOT a toilet...! đ
My Pieter rushed to the men unloading and telling them it was NOT our toilet.
Haha, we ordered the Right Height American Standard with Everclean surface... which is 1 inch higher than the normal height. But not like the box size about to be unloaded!
We had given permission to leave it in our front porch, so they would not unload it onto our driveway and having us tote it up the stairs...
So glad we JUST happened to be home, ready to go biking as you can tell from Pieter's biking shorts.
The men found our box and it was so very well packed!
Double boxed with lots of padding!
Four days later, it got installed!
Very pleased with this second version, like we have in our master bathroom.
Also had found and ordered this wall mounted toilet brush and holder, chrome and crystal glass, by Axor Citterio made in Germany.
I'd gotten really mad when one of those made in China brushes broke off...
WHY are they selling so much junk, that keeps falling apart and causing a tremendous burden for the environment?
Going Green is our motto and we rather pay a higher price, so it will last a lot longer.
Have any of you ever received the wrong item?
Ha! A Nordic Track is a far cry from a toilet! Your new one looks great, though, fancy! :-)
ReplyDeleteI've received a few wrong items over the years, on small goods -- nothing large, though. I'm glad you were home to sort things out!
Dearest Kim,
DeleteOh, that was a scary view when we saw that being wheeled towards our home...
We WERE lucky for being around and it worked out well after they found our box.
It is an excellent toilet.
Hugs,
Mariette
Nice sharing :)

Dearest Magda,
DeleteThank you, something to laugh about in retrospect...!

Mariette
Hello Mariette, It is so annoying when those mix-ups happen, but they do occur. Sometimes when getting an antique photo or whatever in the mail I receive a wrong one, but I always try to return it and straighten out the mix up--I am sure that the other person was just as disappointed not to get their item.
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteOh, mix-ups are always annoying as it consumes so much of our time.
When things in the end do work out, it is worth the effort though.
Hugs,
Mariette
Yes ... I did receive the wrong item once. I was expecting a good friend to come round and the mother-in-law turned up instead. Unfortunately, the taxi had gone and I could not return her.
ReplyDeleteI like your new toilet. Lucky you discovered the mistake in good time.
God bless.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteHaha... that was a good one!
Yep, we discovered it JIT = Just In Time.
Hugs,
Mariette
Thank goodness you were home for the delivery! A Nordic Track piece of exercise equipment would not make a very good toilet, lol! Right now I would enjoy a higher toilet with my back issues. I'm thinking you must have a good plumber - or perhaps that's another of your dear Pieter's handyman specialties, if so lucky you! Bob is useless at home repairs - but he's still a great guy in so many other ways so guess I'll keep him!
ReplyDeleteHugs and stay warm - cooling off at night here.
Mary x
Dearest Mary,
DeleteIt was hilarious afterwards but we're lucky as it could have caused lots of problems.
Pieter does it all indeed. He built our entire Rose Suite apartment downstairs and did all the plumbing himself.
For the toilet he got the help of two strong teenage boys from our Church, doing the heavy lifting. But Pieter connected it.
Hugs,
Mariette
Doesn't happen often, but yes, we had a box of diapers delivered to our address - lol! Had no idea how it happened, but we donated them to our church's foster care ministry.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Mariette!
Dearest Martha Jane,
DeleteWe often are missing something that did get delivered but is 'unseen', till one street down a friendly lady drives over to hand us the missing item. They too have the same house number but different street!
Hugs,
Mariette
I agree about spending more for items of quality .. in the end, worth the investment. Your story and the way you told it .. is quite humorous!
ReplyDeleteDearest Helen,
DeleteWell, this was humorous as it developed. Guess I just grabbed my iPhone for biking and peered through our office window and saw this Nordic Track being wheeled to our front door. So Pieter was quick out there to meet them with the unwanted delivery and he had them search for our toilet!
Haha, it worked out well and we're so happy with this purchase and also with the new German brush. The price is soon forgotten if it is about quality.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hi Mariette! Awesome when products can be ordered from home.
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteYes, when all goes well it is indeed awesome!
Hugs,
Mariette
I once received a piece of furniture as I had ordered but it was damaged. And then to change, it was another week.

Dearest Christina,
DeleteOh, those delivery problems can be quite problematic!

Liebe Mariette,

Mariette
Guten Morgen nach Georgia
ReplyDeleteund danke fĂźrs Feedback ;-)))

DeleteDelivery stuff ups happen to many of us, they are part of online shopping.
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteGuess it happens everywhere, once in a while...
