This year the BEST was only a very brief moment of less than one week...
That is, before the leaves came all OFF!
The leaves of our Acer Saccharum Marshall (Sugar Maple) were HUGE this year; do you see my hand in this picture?
At the very top, the wind already did knock down several leaves.
Pictures are from November 12.
So picture perfect on a sunny day!

Hi Mariette! Awesome colors.
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteYes, they were awesome, if only for a couple of days...!

Such beauty naturally expressed. Thanx Mariette.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteYes, twice annually they show their beauty, in the spring and again in the fall.

Hello Mariette, How lucky you are in the South to have a sugar maple! There are so many beautiful southern plants that simply cannot survive northern winters, but you got this spectacular cold-weather plant to work for you! Imagine in places like Ohio and Vermont whole forests of these sugar maples in the fall, or in the spring for that matter, when the sugar is made.

Dearest Jim,
DeleteYes, we sure are lucky for having this beauty in our garden and it is doing well.
We're not making any maple syrup or sugar but enjoy that from the North!
Hugs,
Mariette
It certainly went out in a blaze of glory! :-)
ReplyDeleteDearest Kim,
DeleteYes, it did and even the carpet of golden leaves underneath was quite a sight.
Then the yard crew came and they got all mulched...
Hugs,
Mariette
Your maple is majestic and gorgeous, Mariette. We have one in our yard that we treasure, but most of her leaves are gone now that we're into December.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Dearest Martha Jane,
DeleteThank you and glad that you got one too!
These photos as I've written above, are from November 12.

Muy bien aprovechado el momento de hacer las fotos. Ahora está cubierto el árbol, con los colores de otoño. Llegará el momento en qjue todas sus hojas se vendrán al suelo.

Dear Mariette!
ReplyDeleteI love such a beautiful sunny autumn.
In my country, such a performance is very short-lived.
It's raining now and it's very unpleasant.
I wish you a blessed Advent:)
Łucja
Dearest Lucja,
DeleteThank you and even here it was very short lived.
The wind blows them down in a couple of days and even faster after a night of minus one...
Happy Advent and stay cozy.
Hugs,
Mariette
I like every season. All of them have something special and in autumn the leaves of the trees and the golden sun (when there is) give a special atmosphere to the environment.
