{My Hat Attack NYC GAVROCHE}

Do you love hats as much as I do? One of my favorites is this white cotton Hat Attack NYC Gavroche. A bit boyish but that's what I like!

  5. Liebe Mariette,

      Lieber Gruss,

  7. Dearest Mariette.....Some hat! You look terrific.
It reminds me of one I had many years ago and wore until it fell apart! In summer especially I can't imagine being out without a hat.
Remember when it was expected of a young lady to wear a hat and white glove? Or am I dating myself!
    Enjoy your day............*s*

Thanks you! Well, in summer it is a smart way for protecting your face from sun rays.
Sure, I remember very well that my Mom always went to Church in the 50s till early 60s, wearing her hat. I too have worn those gloves... also those longer white gloves I wore. Fond memories of elegant days!
      Hugs to you,

  8. Oh I love your hat!! The boyish style fits you very well! I have a hat similar style to yours in black. It does not look very good on me, so it's not worn for a long time..haha.

I'm sorry you had allergy reaction from your medicine. It must have been awful :-( Glad your doctor lets you stop taking it. Sounds like it did more harm than benefit to you.
And thank you for your birthday wishes for Niko! He had a good birthday :-)

Thanks for your compliment, yeah, I love boyish things...
Medicine can be tricky, especially when taken for some 6 years. So glad I'm off of it now and it is going down in a couple of days.
So glad Niko boy had a good birthday. They are being well loved and that feels so good for observing!

    Fijne week, lieve groet

  15. I never wear a hat, always to much wind here. I remember when seeing your casquet, I once had a blue one like yours when I was young (with my long hair hanging under)

    ReplyDelete

    1. Dearest Marianne,
You are so right about windy days... my lighter silk hats I cannot wear when it is windy or you have to run after them. This casquette gavroche (newsboy cap) can be a bit adjusted and fits more tight.
If you have very long hair it is a problem at times!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

Thank you very much for your kind comment. I agree with you and don't want to wear just any cap or hat that doesn't match with the outfit. For sun protection it is great though and around the beach I always wear them!

  18. Dear Mariette,
we do not use to wear hats in Greece except casual ones on the beach (as Dimi wrote) or on a excursion. Ladies used to, in the past, and I have a great photo with my aunts all wearing beautiful hats at a official reception.
In all your relevant posts it is obvious that all types of hats suit you very well.Good for you!!!

Around the beach I always wear them; period. Here in general they get worn rather frequently; not on windy days of course as that is an other issue. Oh, in times past, my Mom wore them all the time to Church and such. But different countries have different customs. I like them, not all the time but if I'm in the mood for them.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

You look GORGEOUS in that outfit!!!!!! And hats definitely suit you very well! I personally don't wear hats that often... usually, just in the winter when it's cold. But as you say, they definitely finish off an elegant outfit :)
I'm sorry for being a bit slow in catching up with posts these days... I've been working on a long translation (from Italian and English into German... so it's cross-cultural!).
Hope you are well, my friend! Take care of yourself, big hugs to you!

    1. Dearest Anna,
Thank you for your kind comment and don't ever worry about your visits or lack of it! I know too well how much time and effort goes into translations. Been there; done that.
I'm improving day by day but a very nasty allergy from my Lisinopril, high bloodpressure medication kind of ruined things for days. Hope I can shed that soon as my doctor made me stop using this medication. But before it is completely out of your system that takes time... And patience, well that's tough when you long to get ahead and feeling fit again.
      Hugs to you,
      Mariette
