{Crocus near our Vinyl Picket Fence}

Since the huge pine tree has been cut down and the big oak tree trimmed up there was lots of space now for planting more bulbs near the Vinyl Picket Fence. So husband Pieter put out some Crocus...
We had so much rain that it was difficult for capturing these yellow crocus on camera...
This is February 23 and it made us happy to finally see some color!
This is the view from our bay window in the kitchen and the yellow daffodils are also starting to bloom.
That crocus patch could even have been bigger!
Our grass looks all winter like that, so dreary and dead...
At least these crocus are happy flower bulbs and blooming for weeks on end.
Let's hope spring will pull through finally!
Happy new week to all of you.

Thank you and yes, we do enjoy this perfect white vinyl picket fence backdrop for the crocus and right now the Japanese Magnolias. It really is spring here and that makes me smile all day. We went for a long walk in the sunshine! Sending you hugs and blessings and hope your snow will melt away soon.

  8. Lieve Mariette,

      Liefs,

  10. Your crocus are very pretty. I love yellow-colored flowers. They look very cheerful :-)
It's a very lovey match with yellow daffodils. Soon there will be lot of spring yellows and greens! We enjoyed warm weekend very much. Didn't reach 70s but it was high 60s. This week seems to be very rainy but after the rain, spring should be here :-) Have a wonderful week, Mariette!

Thank you and yes, the color of our friend the sun is always a nice looking one; it brings joy!
Today when I drove to Macon for therapy, I could see a lot of progress, the red leaves of the swamp maple and also white blossoms from the Prunus Americana, the wild plum. Next week there will be even more as it now moves very rapid with summer like temperatures close to 80s here. We will even get thunderstorms with that very warm weather and that will do the trick for nature!
Enjoy your week as well and all its spring blossoms in your area.
      Hugs,

  20. Hello Mariette, Your yellow crocuses are very cheerful and springlike. In Taiwan, of course, we don't need flowers to break through the snow, but the Spring weather here can get awfully rainy, cold and gloomy. In fact, I was lucky to get a few breaks in the weather to go photograph the Lantern Festival last week!

Hope you get some nice warm weather soon.

    1. Dearest Jim,
No, in your region you sure don't need such cheerful flowers to start spring after a dull winter but I do remember the rather cold and gloomy days while living in Indonesia. Especially if you are in the mountains it can be very cold and without any heating in the homes, well, that makes you long for the USA! For photography it is so hard to make do during any wet period. For our crocus we too had to wait for days due to rain; hence a few buds already wilting away. But we cannot change nature and we all need the rain! We got very lovely weather the past couple of days!
      Sending you kindest regards,
      Mariette

Oh I can believe that as you got quite a load of winter weather lately. Here we have not seen snow this winter but it kept dragging on till a couple of days when it really warmed up. Just love it!
Hugs and hoping the sun and warmth will come your way to Texas soon!
