Sunny Bike Ride

Not always easy to plan bike rides with March or even April weather... Had our Tornado watches and nasty wind with lots of rain!
But on March 6, it was such a perfect sunny day!
Wearing our shorts and off we went!
Finally we found us a spot for a break.
Pieter is munching on my home baked Amaretti cookies.
This was on March 6, so the trees were not yet filled up with green new leaves...
Beautiful lake...
A short 6 second video of both lakes and Pieter on his bike.
Lovely Redbuds or Cercis canadensis
For those that love to see our full ride on Relive, here it is...

That indeed was a perfect sunny day for biking in our shorts!
      Thanks for viewing.

  2. Hello Mariette, What a heavenly spot you and Pieter found for your Spring jaunt. That place looks a lot like Ohio in the Spring, with its gently rolling woodland and carpet of last Fall's leaves. And I almost suspect you of using Photoshop to make that lake more blue!

    1. Dearest Jim,
Yes, this is a newfound treasure close to the home of our former back neighbors. It makes all the difference for being able to get off your bike and to stretch your legs and back.
It is very rolling in our area, hence the cardiologist stressed that Pieter cannot push uphill without using some help from an electra bike. This is perfect.
No Jim, these photos have not been in Photoshop, just straight off my iPhone 13 Pro.
Photoshop I only use for the old photos...
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  3. What a wonderful trip. I really enjoyed travelling with you, although not on a bicycle. I keep falling off bicycles; they don't remain straight. Always lean and fall to one side - sometimes left sometimes right. Why is that?

    God bless.

    1. Dearest Victor,
It is indeed a lovely ride and we both like to go there.
Seriously, have you never been able to ride a bike?!
We rode bikes since childhood and love doing so.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

    1. Dearest Kim,
Yes, that was a very lovely day indeed but boy did we get some surprises after that.
Some frost and this week we got the Tornados...
But slowly we're heading into real spring for sure!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  7. Dearest Mariette,
How lovely to be out and about.
We are slowly getting warmer. This morning the birds were chirping like spring has sprung!
BTW, love seeing your cheerful house in your header.
    Enjoy your Sunday.....*s*

Yes, this is what we enjoy most and we hope that the weather will allow for some biking in the coming weeks.
We have had a very cool night but now the sun is out, still somewhat cooler but the wind is gone.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

PS that header is on for quite a while but we both love the house being freshly painted again!

Indeed, a very cool app that we have used over the years. So nice to look back at certain trips and photos you make along the way show up on that spot.

Al menos lo intentamos, pero el clima no siempre es bueno para conducir. El jardín también requiere mucha atención. En resumen, ¡nuestras vidas son demasiado cortas!

    1. Dearest Christina,
Oh, when the weather is like this, riding our bikes is great.
Walking I love but Pieter is not good at it anymore and for his knees he's not supposed to put too much weight on them. Biking is without any pressure on the knees.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  13. What a beautiful day for a bike ride. I can hear that wind in the video. I used to ride bikes all of the time, so much fun. I need to get me one as my husband likes riding. Happy Easter, Betsy
