{Chinese Redbud & Bumble Bee}

We do have a very special Chinese Redbud that started blooming by mid March.
Below this post, you find a link to a previous post with more photos.
But here you see a Bumble Bee enjoying the pollen from its flowers.
Quite striking too, for seeing new flowers next to some old seed pods...

    1. Dearest Theresa,
      So do we, we got the wild ones, this Chinese and also a darker pink Apalachian Redbud. But the severe rain with thunderstorms has finished most of the blossoms... Though rain is welcome!
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  6. Hello Mariette, These photos form a perfect mini-essay on nature--dried seeds, flowers, and a bee all working together. These days, with all the problems from mites and poisons, you are lucky to get bees at all. Do you get lots of honeybees later in the season?

    1. Dearest Jim,
      Indeed, it struck both of us for seeing that much in one tiny spot. Nature provides in some good ways and yes, in our area there are still lots of honeybees around. Our garden is a certified one: {Our Backyard Wildlife HABITAT Certificate from August 1997}
      It is such a joy to have lots of hummingbirds, butterflies and bees!
      Kindest regards,
      Mariette

    wieder eine selten Blüte. Ich habe sie in China bewundert,

  9. Que flor linda e a cor belíssima. Aqui em nossa casa eu plantei muitas árvores, mas elas custam a dar flores. Tenho muito verde e pouco colorido. Adorei essa planta.
    Bjos tenha um ótimo dia.

    1. Dearest Anajá,
      This is an exceptional deep pink color. Well, even if you have flowering trees, the time that they bloom is about one week out of the year...
      Hugs,

  10. These are beautiful trees, dearest Mariette!!! I do have two very big Judea's trees (Cercis siliquastrum) in my garden and they are presently in full bloom, and yes, there are still some old seed pods on them!!
    Many hugs to you!

    1. Dearest Marie-Anne,
      Indeed, the Cercis siliquatrum is bigger than our varieties of Cercis canadensis. This Cercis chinensis is even more of a dwarf form. But still pretty. It looks kind of odd to see new flowers and old seed pods but that's nature!
      Lots of hugs to you as well.

  12. Lieve Mariette,

      Liefs,
      Mariette
