About Me

Here I would love to share with you our travels and adventures as international mushroom consultants. MEMOIRS about husband Pieter Vedder, who was a SCIENTIFIC PIONEER in Commercial Mushroom Cultivation Education. Then and Now

On July 23 of 1987, I did join Pieter on a trip to the Division Office for Campbell's Soup mushroom business.

My very first visit actually.

Wearing my high tops and slouch socks with my jeans skirt...
Yes, it's me!

Okay, I turned around for you...

Photo taken in our hallway on November 17, 2020... 33 years later!

That is one of my favorite jeans skirts; STILL!
Faded but I will never manage to wear this one out...
Only the buttons I've altered, they are closer together.

Thank you but young I'm not any more...

  2. Hello Mariette, You are to be congratulated--I wonder how many people could wear the same clothes for such a period of time. I tried to think of my oldest article of clothing, but except for a few pieces that were basically in storage, almost everything has been purchased since I left Ohio.

    1. Dearest Jim,
For you it also was about moving to a different climate, compared to Ohio.
Sometimes I wish I still had a certain piece but I also gave away things...
Yes, I could have fit my entire life in the clothes that fit me since age 15, without having to do anything for it. Well, being active and I've been called hyper as well but even that does fade a bit with age.
      Hugs,
      Mariette

  3. Exactly how I dressed in 1987. :) I can't believe you still have the outfit after all these years. My weight has fluctuated a lot and clothes have come and gone.

    1. Dearest Tammy,
That is great that you too recognize this kind of style.
Loved wearing my high tops and slouch socks; then and now!
Not everyone is keeping an Eco-friendly body for not having to toss out constantly her clothes...
      Hugs,

Thank you but it must be mainly genetic! I got two brothers that have not changed over the years. The rest did.
Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well; you're early but time seems to fly.

  6. I wouldn't get my calf into clothes from 1987. Seriously. I'm always amazed at those who seem to have high metabolisms and don't gain weight. That's amazing, I hope you feel as great as you looked then and now! :-)

Well, a high metabolism indeed and due to over active thyroids, which can cause other problems.

  13. Hoi Mariette,

      Mariette

  15. I'm just playing "read older blog posts" on all my friends' blogs... things I may not have read if I didn't know the blogger before I found them.

You are as cute and beautiful as ever, Mariette!

I hope you're doing well, Mariette! Sure miss you being online, my friend. Sending you big hugs and lots of prayers as you continue recovering. 💕

    1. Dearest Diana,
      Thank you for this comment!
I was awake, have been sleeping almost the entire day... Today the Home Health Nurse will visit for the very first time. Tomorrow back to the Wound Care doctor for having the stitches removed and getting my wound vac—if still needed?! Stupid for discharging me in Savannah but taking the wound vac off... Then here a new one needed to be ordered and that takes time. We both managed to take care of my 'oozing' wound but it is no fun.
WHO would have thought about an aortic dissection/aneurysm?
Life will never be the same...
      Hugs,
      Mariette
