ROSETTE of the Clematis 'Josephine' a somewhat dahlia like Clematis.
Do you see the outer sepals underneath this Rosette?
They fell off at the time the Rosette fully opened up...
This is the total bloom of Clematis 'Josephine' before the Rosette fully opens.
Missouri Botanical Garden names it: Clematis 'Evijohill' and describes it has been discovered in 1998 by Josephine Hill.
