On December 20 of 1995 I did make a video when Pieter again did use the DR Trimmer Mower with Beaver Blade at first and changing to String.
So finally the remaining wilderness succumbed!
Tackling such a reclaiming job, you need some special equipment so Pieter got himself this DR Trimmer Mower
This is what Pieter was using...
First in video he shows the use of the Beaver Blade for tougher things and latet with the strings as seen clearly in video.

Quick and efficient. Looks like hard work.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Dearest Victor,
DeleteYes, it still takes lots of muscle grease!
Hugs,
Mariette
Useful machine. Makes working a lot easier.
ReplyDeleteDearest Anne,
DeleteIt sure does but still a heavy push!
Hugs,
Mariette
Hello Mariette, I wonder if Pieter didn't tackle that project partly as an excuse to buy and use exotic tools, build fires, etc. Let's face it, DIY projects can be a lot of work, but are also fun. I know that I often longingly look at the specialty tools in the hardware store and try to find some excuse to buy them--I usually don't need all that much convincing!
ReplyDelete--Jim
Dearest Jim,
DeleteWell, we got the adjacent lot just for pure privacy reasons. But sure did not realize enough that 'aging' will put a halt to all that. Pieter always loved any tool and he never shunned hard work. It has been rewarding!
Hugs,
Mariette
.....and I thought Bob pushing the regular lawn mower was hard enough!!!!! Pieter certainly had a huge project there, perhaps a John Deere farm tractor should have been on his wish list, lol!
ReplyDeleteNo rain coming our way - off to water with the hoses this morning to try to keep things growing.
Hugs - Mary
Dearest Mary,
DeleteThere was no way a big John Deere could have been used there with all the trees and holes etc. In the end after grading it, yes it could have been used!
Pushing a regular lawn mower on level grass, not on a big surface is doable.
Thursday it is said to rain with thunder here for an entire week... We'll see!
Hugs,
Mariette
Dear Mariette
ReplyDeleteNeeds a hard work to make the land clean.
Hoping you all will always happy and healthy.
Dearest Endah,
DeleteYes, reclaiming a piece of land is always hard work!
Hugs,
Mariette
Looks like a powerful machine!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday, Mariette.
Dearest Veronica,
DeleteIt sure is!

Querida Antónia,
Delete¡Sí, fue muy efectivo y genial para ver el final del proyecto!
Abrazos,

Tim just looked over my shoulder and said too much hard work...................
ReplyDeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
DeleteWell, the end was in sight though...!
It was very hard work and for getting it all done the right way, you ought to do it yourself.
Hugs,
Mariette
Hoi Mariette,
Groetjes,
Mariette
Marietta takiej maszyny jeszcze nie widziałam, napewno w pracach ogrodowych. Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
DeleteNajdroższa Małgorzata,
DeleteMieliśmy wielkie szczęście, że znaleźliśmy ten; duża pomoc!
Uściski,
Mariette
Dearest Mariette,
ReplyDeleteI cannot but admire Pieter for all his gardening skills (and not only!) and for the hard work he has done for your house and land!
Many hugs and keep safe with the coming bad weather!!!
Dearest Marie-Anne,
DeleteThank you and like you write here, I too admire him. A lot of willpower for getting it done and doing it very well.
With our worldwide consulting, our home and garden were always pushed onto the waiting list... no time for doing sooner!
Then, finally we could sit down and write and self publish our book about modern mushroom growing 2020 harvesting.
So glad it got all done!
Hugs and yes, I had to drive home in heavy rain for one hour, coming back from Atlanta with Pieter...
Mariette
It is important for a person to be able to pick up a machine and do the work themselves.

Dearest Christina,
DeleteThis was a powerful tool for making the work bit less hard to do.
